Why I want to be a Darling Doll. By Kalei Lozano

I would like to be a Darling Doll because your pageant system is the best. Two years ago when I was crowned divisional supreme you made me feel like I had won a supreme title with all the gifts and the beautiful crown. And every time I got a package in the mail mommy said my face would just light up when I saw your label on the outside of it. Your system is just the best. Every winner feels special from the supreme winner to the beauty winner.
I really like everything about your pageant, from the gifts, crowns, and the stages are soooooo beautiful, but I think most of all I like the people behind the pageant. When it comes to HEART you have the most. Everyone really puts their whole heart in the pageant. Every smile, hug, and laugh... it is the real thing. I am so glad that your pageant is here. Keep up the good work and we will see you in November.

this is why I would like to be a Darling Doll. I want to help pass out the hugs, smiles and laughs next year.

Lots of pageant love

What it would mean to me to be a Darling Doll: that my dad would get to come watch me compete. You see, my dad loves me very much but he doesn’t understand how much I love doing pageants. Every time we go to a pageant he gets upset because he thinks they are nonsense. But when he saw my pictures for DDA Arkansas and saw how much fun I was having he said that he might come watch me compete at nationals. You see, my dad works all the time, but for him to say that he would come and watch me compete means the world to me. My mom goes with me all the time, but my dad has never come to any of my pageants. Oh, that would mean so much to me to have my mom, dad, and my twin brothers come watch me have fun!! Since my twin brothers were born last November, we have had to pinch pennies and not go to as many pageants as I want to go to. I love my brothers and I’m a great big sister, but they are expensive (?)!! So, that is why I want to be a Darling Doll: so I can bring my DADDY!!!!

Hi, my name is Ally Weyant and I am 7 years old. I currently live in Valdosta, Georgia, home of Moody Air Force Base and the largest combat search and rescue wing in the world…”So that other’s may live!”

16+ years ago, my Mom and Dad both joined the United States Air Force and have been serving their country faithfully ever since. They’ve both been deployed and have spent many months away from home to help make our world a safer place. (My mom just got back from Afghanistan in August, supporting Operation Enduring Freedom and the War Against Terror) They, along with all the troops in our military services today, represent what America stands for! The RED, WHITE AND BLUE!!!

Darling Dolls of America has a special place in our hearts and we are very excited to be able to be a part of a pageant system that promotes the COLORS of AMERICA ! Darling Doll Wear is going to be so much fun…I can’t wait to show my COLORS! From a family who loves our country, we can’t wait to be a part of the system that loves our country too ?

It would be an honor to represent your system and wear a title that promotes the Greatest Country on Earth! DDA Here we come!!! Oh yea, and the crowns are AWESOME too, he he ?

I have been in the Darling Doll family since it started. That’s exactly what being a Darling Doll means to me - FAMILY . I have been a very lucky little girl to have held 2 titles. I want to be a Darling Doll for sooooooo many reasons, but since mom is typing for me, she told me to pick out my best ones! ?

My family - First of all, I want to do this for my PawPaw, who just passed away one week before DDA Texas state. I was so excited to be going to the pageant, but couldn’t. His favorite name for me was “Nubbin”. He used to want me to sing for him. So this year at nationals, I will be singing a song for talent dedicated to him, because he is my angel. It may be hard to get through, but I know God will give me strength through him. So if you see a little halo over my head, don’t be fooled, it’s not because I am perfect, but it is my PawPaw watching me sing for him! Hehehe

My pageant family - Darling Dolls is my family. I have been with them since they started their pageants. I love Mrs. Shannon, Mr. Stuart, the nanas (and their laps), Ms. Marilyn, and all the DDA staff. I love to go to a pageant and see them there cheering for every little girl who walks on the stage. To me, this DDA family represents what pageants are about and I try to follow their examples in making friends with everyone and cheering on my competitors, showing good sportsmanship and trying to pass on what they have taught me.

My United States family - Darling Dolls is so much more to me than I can say, but to have a Darling Doll event (which is my favorite) shows where the heart of the pageant is. With the 5th anniversary of 9/11 here, it really reminds me of why I celebrate the U.S.A. I love my country and I am proud to wear the red, white and blue.

Would I be a 10 year old kid without mentioning the prizes????? I LOVE the prizes, the crowns, the banners, the cash, the attention they give to the competitors and the royalty, Mr. Tim, the new friends I make, the music, the tables outside so I can beg my mom for a prize after every event!! Hehe What else is there? I don’t think there is anything Darling Dolls hasn’t covered! This is the ultimate pageant I can’t wait for every year! Thank you Darling Dolls for being a part of my life and letting me be a part of yours! I am counting the days until the pageant!

Love, RaeLee Caddenhead

A Darling Doll is something I would like to be
but you have to enter this
pageant or it will never be
So let the fun begin and laughter too because
everyone can enter even me and you.
The excitement will build from the moment it starts
giving us memories that will last in our hearts
          LIGHTS!! CAMERA!! ACTION!!
          Let the show begin
for the DeMerses’ have no fear       this is the pageant of the year.
So here’s my chance to get on that stage
giving that smile which is contagious for miles.
I will shine in my dress made of satin and lace
proceed down the runway with poise and grace.
With family and friends all in attendance,
clapping and cheering at my performance
I glanced over at my dad and that’s when I noticed
he had a tear in his eye
from all the pride he held inside
“She’s all grown-up now but not too long ago
I called her my little doll.”
But for all he knows maybe this weekend
      I would now be his

When I was four years old I visited my father’s home town of Crain TX . We went to see one of his high school buddies. Dad’s friend had two little girls so I was overjoyed to play with them. I was blown away when I walked into their room. On three walls they had large shelves covered with crowns and trophies. At that time I thought they were princesses. I soon realized how they earned them. Ever since then I have been in love with pageants.
Coming from a home that struggled to pay bills I never could compete. I was told that it was only for the prestigious and rich. It never killed my love for the sparkle of the stage.
On June 12, 2004 a star was born, Bailey Renee Gallion. She was an angel. I knew she was special and would do some thing wonderful someday. While sleeping she smiled. She was only twelve hours old. At that moment my vision was confirmed. I had a real Beauty Queen.
Bailey has only competed in three prelims and two state pageants. She now has two State Queen titles. I guess my family was wrong about the qualifications of a beauty queen. We are not rich or prestigious.
In my eyes she is a Darling Doll. It would be wonderful to have a chance to participate at Darling Dolls of America Nationals. I know she will work hard to earn a title. Knowing Bailey as I do, she will have fun just being there. She is so congenial even though she is only two years old.
This is why I wish her to be a Darling Doll.

Thank you,

Why I Want To Be A Darling Doll Essay
By: Kori Godeaux, Age 9

Why do I want to be a Darling Doll? Well, let's see.......

Could it be because Darling Dolls of America is tons of fun and absolutely the best pageant of all time?
Sure it is!

Or could it be because of all the awesome awards a Darling Doll wins?
Of course it is!

Is it because all Darling Dolls have just as much fun giving up their crowns as they do winning their crowns?
Absolutely!

Or could it be because Darling Dolls are treated like royalty all year long by the best directors in the whole world?
You bet it is!

Could it be because competing in Darling Dolls of America is the experience of a lifetime?
Positively, absolutely yes!

Anymore questions?

Why I want to be a Darling Doll Poem
By: Halle Bihm, Age 6

Rose are red;
Violets are blue.
I want to be a Darling Doll,
And so should you!

Tons of awards;
Directors who care.
What more could you want?
I sure will be there.

You will see Mr. Tim.
Where else would he be?
You will have a blast.
Just you wait and see!

So get out that dress,
And your red, white and blue.
Practice your Pro Am;
There is so much to do.

Darling Dolls rock;
That's certainly true.
But if you don't win,
You surely won't lose!

There are so many reasons that I would love to be a Darling Doll. Darling Dolls of America has been such an exciting part of my life for the past year. I would love to remain part of the DDA family forever. Mr. Stuart, Ms. Shannon, Nana Janie, Nana Judy and Ms. Marilyn have spoiled me so much. They make all of their royalty and contestants feel so special. DDA also has the most awesome crowns and banners! DDA was my first National pageant. It was so exciting! I knew I was hooked after it was over. The stage is always so beautiful. The feeling you get when you step onto it, is magical!

I also have another very important reason that I would love to be a Darling Doll. My family suffered a terrible loss when my Pawpaw and Mawmaw's house burned to the ground a few weeks ago. They lost everything and they are so sad. If I had the opportunity to compete at DDA nationals, I might possibly have a chance to win some cash. If I were lucky enough for that to happen, I would like to give it to my grandparents to help them out in their time of need. My Pawpaw had two heart surgeries last year and this has been very hard on his heart. It would make me so happy to make his heart smile again. That's what family is for. Nobody knows that better than DDA because they are all about family. That is why I am so proud to be part of the DDA family. Thank you for your time and God bless you all. Hugs, Maci Konen

Why do I want to be a Darling Doll? I would be nuts if I didn't want to be a one! You have those huge gorgeous crowns, you give everyone a great pageant, not just the winners, and you treat your royalty better than anyone.

Hi, I am Bianca Valencia. I am 2 years old and I live in Rose Hill, North Carolina. I have been doing pageants for a little over a year now. I really love pageants, but I have not been able to compete very much this year. I have been very sick and have only been able to do 3. I have really missed seeing all my pageant friends and family, and this pageant would give me a chance to catch up with everyone. I have also really missed making new pageant friends, as we all no pageant friends are the best kind.

DDA has been the one pageant I have dreamed of doing since I started. You have those great big beautiful crowns (the kind ever princess dreams of) and you really know how to make a girl feel like a queen. When a little girl walks away from DDA it doesn't matter if it's with a crown, because either way she knows she got the royal treatment.

Well, it's almost time for Nationals and I really want to come. But my daddy says that Texas is really far away, and that we just don't have the money right now. But that's ok I still have mommy wrapped around my little finger. She says that if I am lucky enough to be a Darling Doll, that she will talk to daddy so that I can go. So, I really hope my good luck hold out, because it will break my heart if I have to wait until next year to make my DDA fantasy become reality.(Do you know that's a lifetime, in baby days) I don't care if I walk away with a crown, I just want to be able to say I went to the world's best pageant and had a great time.

There are so many wonderful reasons that I would love to be a Darling Doll, but to be honest with you I don't think I can count that high yet! But if I am not luck enough to be a Darling Doll, then I am sure that you made some other very lucky little girls dreams come true. I know that there are a lot of girls that share my dream, so I will understand. I really hope that everyone has a great time at DDA this year, and if I don't make it this year, I'll see you next year.

Big Pageant Hugz,
Bianca

This letter is from my mommy.
I want to be a darling doll because I am a little person (dwarf). I will find it hard later in life to face some of the teasing and names. Being in this pageant will help me learn now while I am young that I can do anything that anyone else can do. I will be able to learn to get infront of a crowd now and show that I have just as much personality as anyone else. Not only that but, I am awful cute. I have faced many struggles in my last almost four years. The doctors said I would die and I do have a bone disease that makes my bones weak. If I can handle 51 broken bones I can handle being on stage infront of alot of people. I want to be a darling doll so I can show everyone just how big my personality is.

Thank you.

Hi my name is Brianna Butler I am currently 9 years old from Mattoon ILL. I have been competing in pageants since I was 3 1/2. I have been so fortunate to win many titles in the years I have competed. I am very proud of each and everyone of them.

I would like to be come a Darling Doll of America because I feel it is a very prestigious title. I will be taking about a 6 month break right after that pageant due to some dental work that I need but I would love to go out with a big bang and have Darling Doll of America be the last pageant I compete in. Please consider my wish and help me to go by awarding me fees off.

Thank You for your consideration.

Hello my name is Bailee Faith Witt and this is why I want to be a Darling Doll. This will be written from my mamaw for me. I am 18 mos old and very outgoing basically since i was born. My memaw is disabled with her back , shes had 5 surgeries and will be crippled someday from deteriation in her bones. Since I was 12 mos old my mamaw started putting me into pageants. This is something her and I could do together since I was walking by then and could help her with my clothes. I dont know what I will do somday when she will come to my pageants in a wheelchair but for right now we are thinking positive. We had to miss state at the last minute because of her hurting so bad. Since Nationals are in Dallas she would be able to make it . This might be her only chance to go to a National with me. I have won quite a bit and hold 6 titles currently. Since my mamaw is disabled she doesnt make much money so she makes things and sells them to make the money for my pageant clothes and pictures. Plus the fees of the pageants. I always try to get to the prelim to get the money off so that it helps my mamaw. I love the stage so much usually my mamaw has to just about drag me off. I am a very happy child considering my circumstances. My mom is also slow minded and cannot get a job and my dad has a hard time keeping one because of taking care and making sure we are all ok, so i stay at mamaw's as much as possible. So out of all my crowns and trophies I would love for her to see me on a National Pageant Stage behind me being crowned or just seeing me up there and happy , thats my mamaws biggest wish for her too. So why do I want to be a Darling Doll , For my grandma and me to have that one last experience before its to hard for her to do it. I believe I could represent the Darling Dolls of America well back in my state. We like to go to the Nursing home and I sing and make animal sounds and see the older people smile and hug me . We like to take can food to the shelter as much as we get any , my mamaw said we dont need much just each other and family.
Thank You

Hi, My name is Taquisha Flagg and here is the reason why I would like to become a Darling Doll:

The reason why I want to be a Darling Doll is because America's Darling Dolls is an exciting pageant to represent! It offers many chances to win great prizes, titles, and gorgeous crowns! Darling Dolls also promote GLAMOUR in pageantry which is VERY important to glitz lovers! Nationals is also held in the Pageant capital state of TEXAS (a state I never been to) which is also another great reason to become a Darling Doll! The last and definitely not least reason why I would like to become a Darling Dolll is since because I am an adult, I can also be an example to younger girls showing them that glamour can last a lifetime as long as you have the passion for it!

Hello!

I am Alecia Monee' Truitt and we haven't met, but when we do, you will understand why I'm writing to you. I would LUV (ha, that's my word) to be a Darling Doll. I just turned 13 recently and I am a true teen! I enjoy many things including shopping, cheering, dancing, TALKING ON THE PHONE (true teen thing) and competing in pageants. Pageantry is mostly about image, from my point of view and I believe that's how many people feel in pageants. I have never been the "average" pageant girl. I've always been either taller or bigger than the girls in my age groups. My mom has taught me how to embrace who I am and luv myself no matter what. Pageants have given me so much confidence. I know now, being the mature girl that I am, that others have not always seen me as the one who could be beautiful or a winner, but I continue to get on stage and do my best and try to prove them wrong. I knew I was a darling doll before I knew about your pageant. I just have so much confidence now, not conceit, and my mom stands by me every step of the way. I have represented several of my titles through community work and even my friends want to try them now. I've never been to Texas. We tried to fit DDA in our schedule the past two years, but it just didn't work out. I know financially, my mom and dad will support me as much as they can, but we decided to sit down and write to you in hopes of being chosen to win a free package paid because every little bit helps. I knew what I wanted to say. Every girl in pageants probably wants to be a Darling Doll...they should because I keep hearing how big and fun the pageant is and how great the directors are and I did see the pictures on your site and the crowns are cool. Oh, the cheering outfit...that's tight. PLEASE, if you pick me, I am going to scream soooooo loud! I would luv to have a chance to represent your system. I will continue to work hard and in closing I will say THANK YOU for giving each of us and equal opportunity to be a DARLING DOLL!!!!

Please take this with you on your life's journey:

Beauty is an image
it comes in all sizes, shapes and color.
Mine came from my Mom
like her; there is no other.

I look into a mirror
and I see what's inside of me,
my soul and spirit are of gold
that's the way it's supposed to be.

My face is round, my eyes are small
my smile is bright, my skin is brown,
my waist is thick, my legs are long
it's WHO I AM, no need to frown.

Beauty is an image
at least that's what they say
well, MY beauty is inside and out
and to me, THAT's what BEAUTY is all about!

I want to be a Darling Doll because my Mom is always saying I'm a "LIL MONSTER" or a "LIL MONKEY". I am so not either of those things... heheheh. JUst because I am 22 months old and she always finds me on the top of the bunk beds, the tops of the counters, hanging off the back of our chairs, and many other things does not mean I'm a "LIL MONKEY" and just because I steal my big brothers food off his plate and make him cry , his toys, my Mom's rhinestones, my sisters homework does not make me a "LIL MONSTER". Now does it? I think I am just the sweetest thing out there and I want to show my Mommy and everyone else that "I AM A DARLING DOLL" I would love to win you Supreme entry.

Thanks so much Nakayla Jolee Gray

My name is Abigail Sutton. I am six years old and in the first grade at Leawood Elementary School in Leawood, KS. I am the fourth of 6 kids in my family. I have been competing in pageants for almost one year. During that time I have made more friends than I could have ever imagined and gained more self confidence than anyone could have ever thought.

Every pageant I go to I set my goals very high. I tell my mom (and anyone one else that asks) that "I want to win Supreme!" At your pageant Ihave so many chances to do just that, (Even if it isn't the grand supreme). I told my mom that I want to win one of your big crowns and she told me I would have to work very, very hard and I might win one (I think I can).

I am hoping to have that chance, to win a BIG beautiful DDA Nationals crown. Daddy says he knows that I am the most beautiful Girl out there (besides my mommy of course) I think daddy plays favorites.

My dad isn't like a lot of my other pageant friends dads. He is the best. He loves to see me compete. He makes me practice and never gives me perfect 10's on my modeling and always tries to get that great big giggle smile out of me. He tells me if my smile looks fake too. He even drove 14 hours in one day so that I could crown at two prelims and then was nice enough to judge at them too. He says that the only part of pageants that he doesn't like is the cost. Could you believe that he said Money doesn't grown on trees?

I guess that is why mommy and I are writing this. I would love to have the opportunity to come to your pageant and to try my best. I would come to the pageant and try my best. And even if I don't get my name called even once, I will still stand and smile and clap for my friends (whether I have known them 5 minutes or for a year). I know I will get to come home feeling like royalty and take home a pretty crown (even if it isn't the BIG one.) I know this is one pageant that I want to compete at and hope to be lucky enough to be National Royalty for. And if you ask me how I am going to do, I will tell you " I WANT TO WIN SUPREME"

Why Do I want to be a Darling Doll!!!
(by Jansyn Davis with a little help from mommy, hee hee!!)
~~Number One Reason~~

(hope you don’t mind I borrowed your picture, lol)
but when mommy opened up the email about doing this there was only one true answer: “All contestants are treated like royalty and are part of the DDA Family”. And then she was trying to figure out a way how to express this and there it was in plain site on the Texas Board.

First off I started my little girl in pageants when she was 2 years old. I did it because I thought it would help her from being shy and be more outgoing. I was a very shy child and it took a lot for me to over come it and it still comes out some as an adult.

Jansyn did her first prelim at the age of 2 and she cried when we took her off the stage. She was hooked from day one, lol. So her pageant hobby grew from there. She did mostly local prelims and a couple of state pageants that were mostly natural with gitz dresses. Jansyn made some friends and a very best friend named Rachel.

When Jansyn was 3 Rachel’s mom, Barbara and I decided we wanted to try the full glitz experience and we chose to go to your very first DDA OK State Pageant. We knew only a little about glitz and we were very nervous about walking in their and having our girls look out of place. Luckily neither one of them cared about it, lol. But that wasn’t the case. You guys and everyone else there made us feel so welcomed and we actually had the BEST time we have ever had. We did not know that you could actually be a part of a pageant “family” until we did your system. And we have only did glitz since.

Well Jansyn so badly wanted to do you Nationals that year and we actually won a discount but unfortunately there were some major life changes in our lives and a move and we were not able to make it but we cheered from our home watching every bit of it on Patsy’s. We called our friends Rachel and Barbara the entire time to see how she did and how the experience was. When Rachel got home with her DDA crown and she told Jansyn how fun it was she started bugging me about going. So I told her that we would try the following year but once again was not able to make it.

Jansyn still wants so badly to go this year and I am going to do anything I can to get her there because I want her to experience the best pageant ever. When I saw the opportunity to win fees off again I just thought I would try.

You guys are awesome and no matter who you pick I just want you to know that you will be helping a little girls dream come true and you are giving them the opportunity that they may not have had without it.

Thanks for being so caring to the girls. You and your family and your pageant systems are the reason Jansyn has stuck with them for so long.

Good Luck and we hope to see you in November.

God made the world with
its towering trees, majestic
mountains and restless seas.

Then stopped and said, "it needs
one more thing. . . . .
someone to laugh, dance and sing

To walk in the woods and gather
flowers, to commune with nature
in quiet hours."

So God created little girls,
with laughing eyes and bouncing curls,
with joyful hearts and infectious smiles,
enchanting ways and feminine wiles,

And when He'd completed the
task he'd begun.

He was pleased and proud
of the job he'd done

For the world, when seen
through little girl's eyes,

Greatly resembles Darling Doll paradise.

Hi! This is Jonna's mom. Jonna isn't writing this letter because she is only 14 months old and we can't quite decipher what she is saying yet. However, I am convinced that this is what she is babbling about in her own baby language...

Jonna is new to the pageant system, but we've heard only GREAT things about DDA. She's only attended one glitz pageant, and that was DDA-OK. Although we haven't been, our family is very involved in pageants and while we were at DDA-OK, we noticed the connection that DDA creates between the people competing in their pageants. There were mother's going to other mother's hotel rooms to get help with hair styling, picking out which outfit to wear, and even what time of the morning they should wake up to get ready. There was also a connection between the children competing. They didn't view the other children as competition, but rather as a friend there to share in the fun. Jonna made such a good friend at DDA-OK that they were playing and hugging each other while waiting for crowning. But the thing that astounded me the most was the open relationship between the competitors and the DDA staff. If someone had a question, suggestion, comment, or special need, they didn't hesitate to seek help from a DDA staff member. It also impressed me that DDA didn't deduct points for being late, but that they instead encouraged people to be courteous to other people by being on time. It is the little things like that, that made our first real pageant experience a total blast!

My daughter, Jonna, LOVED being in your pageant!! She loved being on stage! She danced, waved, blew kisses... she wouldn't come off the stage! She loved the royalty girls that gave her prizes on stage. She loved the other babies she competed with! Both she and I would love to be able to join our family, our new pageant friends, and all the DDA staff and royalty at DDA Nationals!!

Why I want to be a Darling Doll
This was our first year trying out the DDA pageant system. We had hear so many great things about DDA and wanted to give it a try ourselves. Our friends were right - DDA was everything we could ask for and more! An honest, fair system that treated every girl like a queen! In our short time in pageants, we've grown to love DDA the most. The prizes are excellent, the crowns are gorgeous, and the entire pageant weekend was extremely fun. AND THAT WAS JUST THE STATE PAGEANT! We'd love to try nationals!

Everyone has told us what an event it is - but we've never had the chance to go ourselves. We can't wait to see all our friends, and play all weekend long!

Being a Darling Doll would be an great honor, not only because it is one of the most prestigious titles in Pageants today; but because this would be our first big national pageant. We've had the opportunity to attend other nationals lately. We've been holding off, though. We want our first national to be with DDA!

We hope to see you soon!

Dear: Mrs Shannon & Mr. Stuart
My name is Mykaylah Q. Larry and I am 6 years old from San Antonio, Texas. I Am. . . A girl who enjoys life and being the person that God is allowing me to be, with my outgoing personality and willingness to help, I pray I can make a difference in the lives of others. But for now, I am Cheering loud for the Fort Sam Houston Cougars. I enjoy playing soccer, acting classes, modeling, volunteering, playing with my Barbie Dolls, reading to my mom and making new friends.

When I was 4 months old I was diagnosed with a heart disease so I do not do pageant as much as I would like, so I am thankful to be given this opportunity to write you this letter and express Why I Want To Be A Darling Doll? Participating in pageants has taken away the thoughts of what I can not do? into what can I do to help others. My mother has instilled in me .The Seven DDA Values which are: Integrity, Duty, Loyalty, Honor, Respect, Service, and Courage. These values will not be put on display they are essential tools that will show me the way.

Being a Daring Doll will be one of the most wonderful experiences of my life. It will give me a chance to meet people and have experiences that will mold me into the person I am today. It will teach me how to appreciate all the gifts and curve balls that life sends my way. I look forward to wearing my crown and banner when I volunteer at Nursing Homes, Habitat for Humanity, San Antonio Food Bank, Race For The Cure (The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation), Grand Openings, The American Red Cross and where ever I can let my little light shine. I pray you choose me for a Supreme Entry to Nationals November 10-12, 2006

Sincerely,
Mykaylah Q. Larry

There are several reasons why Dusti wants to be a Darling Doll. Dusti has been doing pageant for five years now. When I ask her when was the best and most fun she had ever had at a pageant. She simply says Mom remember when I won the huge crown, I was so excited. It was so much fun to show it off to her community. She also loved to reign for DDA going to the mall with her friends and riding in a limo was the best pageant memory she has had. To be a darling Doll is so much fun Dusti enjoyed checking the mail everyday to see if she had a gift from DDA. The DDA system is a step above any other pageant systems because the royalty made to feel so special.

Being a Darling Dolls is more than just fun. Being able to representing DDA in her home town parades and pro-aming to the elderly in the nursing home gave Dusti so much. She also learned about hard times when the hurricane hit she was there to give. The people loved her she had such a big heart to go with that big crown. The since of pride you have being a Darling Doll is one that any pageant kid would only dream of. .

Being a Darling Doll means so much more that winning a crown to sit on the self for display. Being a Darling Doll is a great achievement. Dusti would be honored to be a Darling Doll Of America. .

Thanks

Darling Dolls of America is a pageant that offers something for everyone. It gives talented little girls the chance to show their beauty inside and out. Pageantry has been a part of my life since I was 12 months old. Being crowned with everyone you love there to support you makes anyone feel special. Darling Dolls reflects true beauty and epitomizes what pageantry is all about. So, who would not want to be a Darling Doll? Becoming royalty gives me the chance to show my family and friends that I can reach the stars. I made a little prayer to help me along the way.
                        Star light, Star bright
                        First star I see tonight.
                        I wish I may, I wish I might
                        Wear that DDA Crown tonight.

                        Love Always,

Why do I want to be a Darling Doll? Well, there are many material reasons I want to be a Darling Doll; a big crown, cash, and my picture on the website. Not many think of the true reason to be a Darling Doll.

Every little girl fantasizes of being either Miss America, Miss USA, or Miss Universe. Many young women have attempted and have failed. I have too. I have been so close as first runner-up. I was not congratulated, nor was I made to feel special.

In fact I heard someone say that first runner-up was first in a long line of losers. I felt ashamed and I went home in tears and was heartbroken. I felt my work wasn't worth anything. Then in September, 2005 I competed in the first KS/MO Darling Dolls of America. I knew I had entered into a good system because from the minute I left registration, Shannon and Stuart and all the DDA staff made me feel like I was someone special.

My division had seven girls, and I was very nervous. The nervous feeling went away when I realized how friendly the environment was. The Emcee was cheerful and the audience applauded for everyone who modeled on stage. No one was feeling like the worst kid modeling on the stage. If I made a mistake I did not feel like a complete fool, like I had felt at other pageants. The judges and the audience made me feel like "its okay".
Never once did I feel like I was not going to win. There are so many titles and Darling Dolls of America will do everything in their power to keep from making you feel like a failure. I brought home a title and a smile. Not only did I win my first title, I won lots of friends too.

Why I want to be a Darling Doll is not for the beautiful crown, but for all the friendship and togetherness . I want to be Darling Doll to spread my best trait, my love, and to give my love to the less fortunate, and my support to all the contestants in the pageant. It is not the crown that makes the queen it is the heart that is inside. Darling Dolls of America gives every contestant the feeling of a queen no matter if she is a Princess or the Ultimate Grand Supreme.

As every paper has written before, Darling Dolls of America is a honest and fair system. I loved representing the system for State and I want to continue as a National Queen.

I think that the crowns are beautiful. They treat the queens like royalty all year long with banners and gifts. Since my mommy is a single mommy I would like to win the free entry .so she won't haft to work so hard to get me there. I have wanted to do DDA for two years but have not been able to go. My mommy works so hard and she's been such a roll model. I want to give back to my mommy by winning a free entry and having my dream of competing at DDA come true.

DDA is the last pageant i may be able to do. I want to make a memory of this pageant forever by becoming a darling doll.

Why I want to be a Darling Doll

November 2004 marked the month of the first national beauty pageant that I had ever entered, Darling Dolls of America. I will never forget being so excited that I was going to Dallas, Texas with my mom, dad and big brother. It was also a great time because my Uncle Sam, an Army Captain who had just returned from Iraq, and my cousins were driving down from Fort Sills in Oklahoma to watch me compete. At that time, beauty pageants were new to my family. I had been competing less than a year.

When we arrived on the Friday night before competition started, my mom was up VERY late registering me. At that time, I remember that we were in the hallways talking and meeting new friends. The next day was a very long day of competing, but I had so much fun! I met more friends and got a chance to see some of the prettiest clothes that I had ever seen. I was so excited!!!! Finally, the big day….crowning. I will never forget that there was a beautiful tribute to the troops that were serving in Iraq and other places around the world. This was a big deal to me because my Uncle Sam was there and he got to see that Darling Dolls of America was about much more than just pretty girls on stage in pretty clothes and makeup. I remember looking at the tears in his eyes during the tribute because he had just served a year and a half on the front lines in Iraq. It made me so proud to have participated in a pageant that recognized and honored the sacrifice that he and his fellow troops made. Just when I thought that the weekend could not be any more perfect, my name was called for 6 Year-Old National Divisional Supreme Queen!!!! I was shocked and excited. I thought that it was a perfect end to a perfect weekend. I did not know then that it was only the beginning.

The surprises started immediately. I first received a big box of presents not long after the pageant. And then to my surprise, every month and every holiday more goodies followed. I got e-cards and birthday wishes and wonderful treats the entire year that I reigned. Darling Dolls of America really made me feel that they cared about me and that I was a part of their family. I felt so special! That is why, despite the fact that my family was displaced from our home for eight months after Hurricane Katrina, we did not even consider missing Darling Dolls of America’s 2005 National pageant. After being giving so much and shown so much love all year long, I could not wait to go back and represent my title one last time. It was one of the few things that I had to look forward to last year. And boy, I sure am glad I did! The party, production practices and limo ride that we took to Build-a-Bear Workshop when I returned to reign was awesome! My dad was even impressed, and that is not an easy thing to do.

Since November 2004, I have participated in several other national pageants. While they all had their good points, there is none like Darling Dolls of America. Darling Dolls of America has set the standard for what pageants should be about…family, friendship, fun, giving, sharing, thoughtfulness, and loving. It is an honor to be a part of the Darling Dolls of America family and I will always strive to follow the example that Darling Dolls of America has set for the pageant community. I want to be a Darling Doll because Darling Dolls of America symbolizes all that is right with the world. Being a Darling Doll is not just about the goodies that you receive or the awesome crown that sits on the shelf (although both are nice), but it is about kindness, friendship, honesty, caring and sharing. It is an honor and a privilege to be a Darling Doll!

Thank you DDA for being who you are and thank you mom for helping me type this essay.

God Bless,

Well, considering my mom has called me her "darling doll" from day one, I would think that would be a sign that I deserve that title hands down but I'll tell my story to you guys anyway...just for kicks!

My family has been involved in pageant for years before I was even the twinkle in my parents eyes but my sister always competed on a local and state level in Georgia. My mom didn't get Patsy's or any other helpful magazine back then so she had not heard of "Darling Dolls of America" (if you can believe that!). Anyway, my sister didn't stay with pageant competitions very long but my mom has stayed involved with her sewing and other friends that competed.

When I was born, it was all over...."here we go again" was my daddy's first reaction but being the VERY proud pageant dad he has always been with my big sister, my mom didn't expect any fighting about the money it would cost to get me the pictures and clothes and eventually, the best coach to get me going. Well, due to the fact that we are a PROUD military family stationed, at the time, in NORTH DAKOTA, you can just imagine the pageants that were jumping into our laps. I mean, being from Georgia originally, my mom had never heard of this place. Needless to say, I did ONE pageant my first year!

Then we get stationed in the great state of Colorado. I remember my mom saying, "Well, it's a little closer to some pageants!" That is were we heard of Darling Dolls of America and because my dad LOVED your theme colors he couldn't wait to see me on that red, white and blue stage. The first ,and what would be ONLY, experience we had with your system was over a years ago at your Ks/Mo state and my dad didn't get to see me compete on that beautiful stage because he was deployed and had to miss it but we sent pictures of me and my beautiful crown and he still has those pictures hanging in his office. I didn't make Nationals either that year due to a death in our family. I didn't make state this year due to our vacation to see family but my mom said "No matter what we are going to Nationals this year!" Of course , my dad agreed but only this year he would AGAIN miss it. He is deployed again to Iraq but this time he gets to watch the pageant through the eyes of Patsy's magazine! My dad laughs and tells my mom that maybe this is an omen for us not to go but I am going to go this year NO MATTER WHAT and, win or lose, make my daddy proud!

Why would I like to be a Darling Doll? Well, according to my mom, I have ALWAYS been THAT, but this year it is all for my daddy and every time I got a gift in the mail from Darling Dolls of America, it makes me want it even more. How thoughtful you guys have been to us over this difficult year and we thank you! We HAVE to be a Darling Doll.....my dad is counting on it!

Hi, I am Ria Nelson, a 14 y/o junior at Carnegie Vanguard High School. We attended Nationals last year and I was crowned National All American Angel. I asked my mom what the title represented and when she told me I was very proud. I have represented it all year long and love to explain what it means to have such a prestigious "angelic" title. Since this is my junior year in high school, mom states we'll have to cut back on pageant expenses because of the increasing needs of things in school. My birthday is in November and I want my gift to be coming to your pageant. I want to represent your system because it is one of the best out there. When asked during my summer involvement, what would I do if I had 60 minutes of tv time to represent your pageant, My response was to tell them how great it felt to be one of the 1st National All American Angels with a system that was honest, nurturing, represented beauty, talent and then the average ordinary girl. I would love to try again to win another title to represent you system.

Thanks Ria Nelson

I want to be a Darling Doll, because I believe in fair and honest pageant systems, and would love to be a part of yours. I have not had the opportunity to travel to the South for a pageant, and I am hoping that this will be my chance. I am a friendly, energetic, and fun loving person. My mom says I can be a bit silly at times, but she loves my quirky ways, my smile and my laugh. She calls me a "mother-hen" because I am always caring for other people. My mom has taught me about being compassionate, understanding, and unselfish. I always try my best to live up to those standards. I would be so excited and grateful to come and meet new people and make new friends.

We don't come from a family with alot of money, so anytime I get to do a pageant it is an awesome opportunity for me. Doing pageants has changed my life in a way I have never expected. I still think back to my first pageant, where I just walked across the stage and looked at the ground the whole time. LOL! I have come a long way since than with hard work, dedication, lots of practice, and many more pageants after that! Of course my awesome coach Miss Lilly has not only been a huge part of my growth, but my friend as well. She has taught me how to be sure of myself and just have a good time with whatever I am doing, and I love her for that. Doing pageants has given me a new found confidence, and a belief that anything is possible!

I would represent your system with great integrity, sportsmanship, and befriend all those who are around me. I hope to bring a positive energy to your pageant, and make memories that will last a lifetime. Of course, I would love to come home to NY with a crown, but most of all new friendships. Meeting new friends from all over has been the best pageant experience of all. I never in a million years thought so many wonderful things could come out of doing pageants. My goodness, and such hard work too! It is all worth it in the end though, I hope to some day go on to compete in the Miss America pageant, so I can have the opportunity to represent our beautiful country.

For now I will just keep reaching for the stars, be the best person I can be, and be a positive and productive person in society. I will do all I can to help those around me in need, and be a friend to whoever needs one!

Hugz and God Bless

Hi my Name is Caydence Carole Butts and I am 3 months old. I live in Wichita, Ks with my mommy. My mom's name is Racheal Butts, she just graduated & works full time & is starting College to provide a good life for my brother Jayden and I. I will be about 6 months old at your Nationals. I would love to become a Darling Doll as I hear my Grandma & Aunt Alexis say how great your pageant is & how you always treat everyone so wonderful, regardless of who they are or what title they have won. My aunt Lexie is celebrating her birthday at Nationals again(3rd year in a row),this tells me that you truly are like Family & this is a do not miss occasion, as she would not want her party any where else even though Grandma has offered. I have heard you always have good luck cheers for all your royalty at all pageants they attend. My aunt Lexie loves the treats you send in the mail. It is kind of funny ,any package she gets she yells" yeah DDA "not knowing who they are from at the time lol I would love to win so Mommy & I could come experience the true meaning of pageantry, Just to compete would be a great honor. I competed in your DDA KS State but I was so small at the time ,I am older now & boy your stage & presentations would sure excite me now. I have been told it is like Walt Disney & Christmas & Fourth of July all in one weekend. Wow sounds like a great place to come do my first Nationals. Thanks for the opportunity to win an entry, just another way that shows :"DDA is all about us kids"

LOVE Caydence Carole Butts & mommy too.

Dear Miss Shannon and Mr. Stuart,

This is Brenna. My mommy said I could write to you. I am writing because more than anything in the whole wide world I would like to be one of your National “Darling Dolls of America”. I already know I would love being a National “Darling Doll” because I was a Texas State Queen in 2004 and 2005 and it was a blast being one of your queens.

Now I have a goal I would like to tell you about. I would like the opportunity to be one of your National “Darling Dolls of America”. By winning my entry fee on my own would be the first step toward my goal. This would also be a great big surprise for my mommy because she works very hard to put me in pageants.

I have been doing pageants for a really long time, for as long as I can remember. I have never won a “BIG” crown like the kind your National Queens win. It would be amazing to win a crown like that but even more your pageants are all about fun, fairness and family. You treat your queens like they are part of your family. Being a “Darling Doll” would be like being one of your kids. And that’s why I would like to be a “Darling Doll.”

Thanks for reading my essay !

I would like to be a Darling Doll,
Because they are the best,
Truly treated like a princess,
Not treated like the rest.
I would wear my crown with pride,
My smile would always be seen,
So happy that I got to be,
A Darling Doll Queen.
Fairness and honesty,
Is what I was told.
I’ll come out and say it,
I‘ll be bold.
Please pick me,
For the supreme entry win!
You will not regret it,
If you let me in!
I have heard that DDA,
Is an awesome place to be,
And I would really love if this year,
That place included me.
So what the name,
I am pleading you to pick?

First I would like to say THANK YOU to the entire DDA staff for a wonderful Texas State Pageant. I was so excited to hear my name called for the Personality Supreme. It was a terrific end to a fun filled day!!!!

In order for me to tell you why I want to be a DDA National Darling Doll you need to understand why I enjoy doing pageants and why I started doing pageants in the first place.

As alot of you may know my father went to heaven when I was 7 years old. (6 years ago) I had actually just turned 7 two months before he had a heart attack. My Dad meant the world to me. I was and still am definitely a "Daddys Girl". Anyway after he died it was very hard on our family. My mom did her best to keep things as normal as possible for my brother and me, but I felt pretty lost. Marcus always had sports to keep him busy but I didn't like sports. Before my dad died we did alot of stuff together and he always called me his little Schellibean and made me feel really special. My dad was the kind of dad that would take time of from work to go on fieldtrips with me and come and eat lunch with me at school. When he wasn't there anymore I felt very lost and I didn't feel special anymore. My mom tried to keep things the same but of course there was something missing. You might think that I was too young to remember all of this and feeling like that but you would be wrong. I remember everything about my dad and my feelings.

So anyway one day I was checking the mail and there was a letter with my name on it. I took it inside and asked mom what it was. She said it was an entry form for a pageant called Allstar Kids that was having a beauty pageant in Mckinney. She said I wouldn't like it, probably because I had really gotten very shy. So she threw it away. But I thought about it for a little while and I went back and told her that I really wanted to do it. The day of the pageant mom took me to the beauty shop and got my hair fixed and we went to the pageant. I had so much fun that day and I was so excited when I won queen and a really pretty crown. But what I remember even more than that was how I felt that day. I felt Daddy was there with me. I know he was smiling and was really proud of me. Since that day in August 2000 I have done alot of pageants, some big and some little, but every time I get on that stage I feel my Daddy right there with me. I can see him smiling and I can hear him saying how proud he is of his "little Schellibean". That is why I LOVE to do pageants.

Also I have made so many great friends. Mom always says "Things happen for a reason". And while I still don't fully understand why God need my Dad more than I did and do, I think of all the wonderful people I have met in the years I have been doing pageants, like all of you guys, Brenda and Jordan, Mrs Beverly, Mrs Valerie and Christina and Vera and Faith. Maybe I would have never any of them or you if things had been different, so maybe that is all part of God's plan.

The reason I would like win an entry to Nationals and be a Darling Doll is because I love doing pageants and I think DDA is one of the funnest pageants I have been to. I also know that I will probably not get to do many more pageants because Mom had to take a new job that doesn't pay as much as the other one. She has already told me I would probably have to quit...I understand that pageants are very expensive and she is doing the best she can, but extra stuff is just out of the question. If I do have to quit I understand why, but I would would love to go to DDA Nationals at least one time.

Anyway, that is why I would like to win an entry and be a National Darling Doll.

Sorry this was so long,

Why I want to be a Darling Doll
By Avanya Thornton

To be a Darling Doll, oh what a dream come true,
To be there in all colors including red, white, and blue.
Visions of beauty, elegance, and pride,
knowing I can do this with Mom by my side.
Seeing old friends and making new,
A Darling Doll is tried and true!!!
I've seen all the winners of years gone past,
they are all smiling, they all had a blast.
A Darling Doll I wish to be.
To wear the crown for the world to see!!!
To represent a system that's fair,
I hope in my heart that I can be there.
I know that the competition will be tough,
and I am still kind of new and I know that this will be rough.
but my Mom believes in me
and knows a Darling Doll I want to be.
To be on stage is what I love to do,
and I can't wait to entertain you.
So I hope from this poem you can see,
A Darling Doll I want to be!!!
Thank you!!!

Why I want to be a Darling Doll?

I want to be a Darling Doll mainly because I like to have fun. I have heard so many good things about this pageant system. I have also seen for myself how all the contestants are treated at your pageants. My mom took me and my little sister to DDA state to cheer for some friends and it was fun. It was hard though because I wanted to be on stage instead of sitting in the audience.

I think DDA is great because they make everyone feel like winners. I have been in a few pageants where if you didn't win a title you left feeling as if you were not even a part of that pageant. My Mom told me that future pageants would be carefully selected so that I was never made to feel that way again. I think we are choosing well by wanting to come to DDA's next pageant.

So I guess that tells you why I would LOVE to be a Darling Doll. There also is the fun we have when we take a road trip, staying at the hotel, making new friends, swimming, playing, and I could go on and on and on.........................................

Thank you for the opportunity,

Emylie Garcia

P.S. My Mom did help me type this up because I am really slow at typing right now, but I am getting better. :)

Hi, my name is Kimberlie Garcia and I am 3 years old. I will be 4 in December. My mom told me I could have a Dora Birthday party.. Yeah.....

I would like to be a Darling Doll because I like getting on stage and playing and having fun. I like to win the trophies and crowns and toys.

I also like going to pageants with my best friend Chelsea MacKenzie and her Mommy. We always have fun on the trips we take together. We have fun because we get to share a hotel room. Sometimes we argue a little bit but we are still friends and I Love her.

My mommy is helping me with this essay because I am only 3 and I can't type. She says that I am doing a good job of writing a story.

I would love to be a Darling Doll with my big sister, Emylie. We have so much fun at pageants and mommy says I will definately have fun at this one.

WHY I WANT TO BE A DARLING DOLL

Darling Dolls of America a wonderful pageant system. That is how I feel after competing at the state level. It is why I want to go to Nationals.
Pageant day is a very busy day of getting ready. Hair and make-up is first on the schedule. Here is where we meet old friends and make new ones. The first competion is beauty wear. Going out on stage you are nervous. Everyone is watching and as you look out on the crowd looking for familiar faces you see the cheerleaders. They are full of energy. Clapping and waving making you forget you are nervous. You get caught up in the excitement. All through the day the cheerleaders are there with their enthusiasm. It is why I want to be a darling doll. I want to be one of those cheerleaders! I even made up a cheer.

AND I UNDERSTAND THAT YOU WILL HAVE A LOT OF THESES TO READ, BUT NO MATTER HOW MANY CROWN ANYONE WINS THEY ALL TURN COLORS, BUT MY PAGEANT FRIENDS AND FAMILY NEVER TURNS COLOR WE ARE ALWAYS THERE FOR EACH OTHER, YOU SEE I CAN NOT REMEMBER THE TITLES THAT I HAVE WON IN THE YEARS PAST BUT I HAVE SOME VERY SPECIAL PAGEANT FAMILY'S THAT ARE NEAR AND DEAR TO THE HEART... I WONT TELL YOU ANY NAMES BUT THEY NOW WHO THEY ARE... AND I WILL ALWAYS HAVE ROOM FOR MORE....SO WHAT I ALWAYS SAY IS YOU MIGHT NOT BE CHOSEN TO TAKE THE CROWN HOME THIS WEEK-END BUT IT IS YOUR CHOICE TO TAKE A NEW FRIEND HOME ALONG WITH THE OLD. ( I CHARISH ALL MY FRIEND)

I HOPE THIS MADE SINCE TO YOU.

Why I Want to Be a Darling Doll

What does Darling Doll Association mean to me? With so many choices in amazing pageant systems thriving in our country, DDA stands alone not only in integrity but in commitment to pageantry and patriotism. The Red, White, and Blue theme alone reminds a little girl like me just how valuable and precious this country is and the beautiful crowns are among the best of the best! And in the pageant world, you haven't arrived until you have competed in DDA and meet the DeMerse family. You see, family values and love of country are important in my life and I want to make DDA my family too! I fit right in because I love to perform, I love the audience and I hear that the audience loves me. And I love my glitzy Red, White, and Blue wear that I hardly ever have a chance to compete in.

Aside from all that DDA represents, it is a system that promotes a winning spirit and creative license and it is where I belong. Mommy is the creative force behind me. For weeks now she has busied herself seeing and sketching my glamorous outfits and costumes, bringing my display to life, reworking my portfolio, bringing me to see my coach, updating my composite, and arranging a photo shoot. Mommy and I rely on and compliment each other in our individual strengths. Mommy inspires me. At a recent summer pageant, I was so proud when I heard her name called for "Mom of the Year." Her essay focused on "How I Changed Her Life." You see, my Mommy is a young Mommy but never gave up her dreams. She just brought me with her while she attained them! Although I am just under 3 years old, most people who know me will say I am sweet, wise, and empathetic beyond my years. I am a good listener and a very good baby and always know what to do on stage to make everyone smile. I would like to share my joyous and giving spirit with my new DDA family and, if lucky enough to reign, I will always display kindness, make any and all appearances matter, and, above all make you all so proud that you chose me!

Mommy doesn't know that my Grandmommy is helping me write this right now but she does know we need help! I have been competing in pageants only for a short while. I began in February 2006 and have never competed in anything more than mini-Nationals. Although I hold various titles, none would ever mean as much to me as one that I could receive in DDA. Even though I am only two (I will be 3 on December 23), Mommy tells me that Community Service, dependability and loyalty are so important and she brings me to nursing homes with sugar free candy to visit and I have participated in a program to give Teddy Bears to local police and fire departments to bring joy to children that are sick or sad.

But here is the truth, our family has had a very difficult 6 months! Mommy is a few months in to her second year of business. She designs and creates a line of children's decor. Grandmommy has put a lot into her efforts because she and I believe in my Mommy and her talent, but Grandmommy says we are not seeing a profit quite yet. To me, my Mommy is very successful. Everyone loves her work and wants more, but I know you know how much must be put into a new business at the beginning. To make it even more difficult, Grandmommy had some very serious back surgeries on July 12th and will spend up to 6 months on illness recovery. Mommy says she is in a lot of pain and lives to see me compete.

So please - Pick Me, Choose me! Darling Dolls and all that they stand for mean everything to me. My name is Riley Marie Belk and I live in Savannah, Texas. I know your choices will be difficult but, please know from the bottom of my heart, I want to be with you very, very much on November 10th - 12th and, from thereafter, always!

God Bless You All for Bringing Joy to Kids Like Me,
Riley Marie Belk

I am Alix Pearson and I am 9 years old. I want my Mom to bring me to Texas to do your pageant. I have seen all the pictures in Patsys of you great big crowns and of your cheerleader girls!! Did I tell you I have red hair and I think I will fit right in with the "family".....When I did your pageant in Atlanta it was like Christmas!! I told my mom right then that I wanted to go to Texas...I'm not sure where Texas is because I have never been there but on the globe it looks real big and Mom says we have to fly! I have never flown before!!! But to be a Darlin Doll I will do it! I want to be on your banners!! I want to wear the cheerleading outfit too! Since pageants take up so much time I can't cheer right now so being a DDA chic would be REALLY COOL!!! I could come, ride the plane, put on my boots and be a little Georgia peach in the Great State of Texas!!

Thank you and see Ya'll soon!!!

My grandmother says I already am her darling doll, but I guess that is not what you want to hear! I have competed only a few times this year and despite doing my best, I have not always come out with a crown. Being five years old I am now at an age where I know when I lose. Lately, it has been a hard lesson to learn! I always want that crown so badly! I recently learned that pitchjing a fit won't get it! So, with that being said, I have begun practicing and working on my modeling and singing even harder than ever. Mom and dad are tryng to buy a new house and it will be our first "new" house. (Right now we live in an old one.) We had such a good time at your Georgia pageant, and I was so tickeld to win the centerfold with my boyfriend Mr. Tim in the picture with me! I sure would love to see him again and try to win one of those huge crowns, but I will have to win my fees paid in order to come, because mom wants that new house! Even if I can't come, mom says I will still be her darling doll! Guess that's all that really matters. Hope you all have a wonderful, fun filled time.

As I stared out the window on my way to school on the 5th anniversary of September 11 my mommy reminds me of my dad’s deployment once again, “Remember to write daddy’s goodbye note, he leaves this Friday”, I sit in the car an remember how exactly 5 years ago he was sent out as well. He had left on September 10th for his annual AT training and mommy and I were all alone. When he came back home after 5 weeks instead of 2 and he told me he had gone to NY to help in the excavation efforts I felt so proud of him. Now this time he is leaving for 2 weeks again, and he’ll be missing my state pageant on the 23rd and mommy’s birthday on the 24th. He is my #1 fan as I am his, and he won’t be there to see me on stage.

I am fairly new to the pageant circuit and don’t have much experience. I just love being on stage and modeling! I love pageants!!! I was hooked since my first one about 2 yrs ago. Sometimes people look at me and mommy funny when they find out that I do them, but I know that it is a sport just like football or basketball, hey even cheerleading. I found out about a month ago why people look at pageantry in a bad light, and when a lady at my dance class asked her how could she put so much make up on me and those dresses I was so proud of mommy when she replied, “How could you let your daughter thrust her hips like that and shake her booty, It’s all part of a routine a costume.” By being in pageants my confidence level and self esteem have rocketed and I have become a better public speaker and performer (I love to sing).

This will be the 1st year DDA is coming to Ca. and I it will be my first real BIG pageant. I wanted him to be there so badly but when duty calls you can’t refuse.

I figure if I can get to nationals in November then he will be able to be as proud as me being on that stage as I am of him for being so brave and defending our country. Plus we will be together for a whole weekend with our pageant friends; it could be a little pre-holiday vacation.

If you like my reason for wanting to be a Darling Doll you will also be helping my parents by making it a possible for me to attend. My daddy leaving like this once a year always makes $$$$ a bit tight because during the period that he is gone he takes quite a pay cut, He always reminds mommy and I that he does it for us to sleep safe at night not the money,.

A Darling Doll I Wish To Be
Now I lay me down to sleep
A Darling Doll I wish to be
To wear the sash, with such class
To win some cash, and spend it fast
To priss myself across the stage
To win the crown, it's all the rage
I close my eyes and wish it's true
To hear my name, called out by you

I would love to participate once again at this spectacular pageant. It is one of the MUST DO pageants of the year and is just a beautiful experience. The staging, the gifts and most important all that cash that is to be given away tell me that I just have to be a part of this. I hope to win supreme fees off and this sure would help me make it back to Dallas this year.

I don't wanna grow up, I'm a DDA kid!....(sing to the Toy's R Us song)
There are a million crowns at DDA that I would like to win!

I don't wanna grown up cause baby if I did!
I couldn't be a DDA kid!

Big crowns, lot's of toys, OH BOY! (yelling)

I wanna be a DDA kid!

Well on second thought...Mommy says that once a Darling Doll, ALWAYS a Darling Doll because DDA treats EVEYONE like family! I never had a Nana until I met Caroline's Nana and she told me that I could call her Nana 2 years ago and then she gave me the boobby pin out of her head! Wow....Only in the South and Only at DDA! I am not going to be doing pageants after this year and I once saw a girl win a pageant for the second time and then announce that she was retiring and that the system that she had come back to recompete at was her best expierence in pageants and she wanted to leave with NOTHING but fond memories and winning a title again at that system was the last thing that she wanted to do...she achieved her goal and I thought ...."Wow that has to be the BEST feeling ever!" I would like to try and achieve the same thing and hopefully I will be able to capture that feeling, once in my life! So, here I am again, with my little fingers crossed holding my breath feeling every bit as nervous as my mom in crowning, hoping that you will pick me to get the free entry so that I can try to make my dream a reality one last time, before I leave it all behind. I saw Akeelah and the Bee and I have decided that I want to win a national spelling bee! I am leaving pageants to chase another dream! After all, my favorite nursery rhyme ends with..."Life is but a dream" and I believe it! Hope to hear from you REAL soon.
until we meet again....

Dear DDA I was so HAPPY in 2004! When Mr. Tim called my name. I was getting really worried when I was sitting there thinking am I even going to win anything? But then I heard my name called and I went backstage and then I said to myself was that my name, that can't be my name so I was to going back to my seat when one of the DDA royalty that I knew said congrats Mallory and I thought I was going to cry. I did cry when I was packing to go home. That whole year was awesome . All of the gifts I got for every holiday I loved everyone of them. Then when reigning time came soooo fast I could not believe my time as American Angel 2003 2004 was over. I cried the day before the crowning when I had to give up my crown. But when yall took us to Grapevines Mills mall to build a bear in a hummer limo that was off the hook. You had people thinking we were Miss Texas. But anyway the reason I should be a Darling Doll 2006 2007 is because I love seeing yall and you are THE BEST ORGANIZATION EVER The pageants like DDA and Diamond and Pearls are the only pageants I go to now. Because after being at yalls pageants there is no other pageants. I have everyone at my school waiting till this pageant is over because that is all I talk about at school to my friends. LOL!!! And I just love seeing all of the reigning royalty and the DDA staff!!!!!! So that Is the reason why I want to Darling Doll for 2006 2007!!!!

Why I want to be a Darling Doll. Well where do I start? There are so many reasons why I want to go to DDA Nationals! First off, my mommy was so happy when I won the Mini Supreme at Arkansas State that she cried. I never thought that she would be so happy that she would cry. LOL. I got so many gifts when I won my title that I haven’t even gotten to play with them all. My mommy said that there wasn’t a pageant system that has ever been so good to us. The staff at DDA was so helpful when my mom had questions and she didn’t even get on their nerves. Ha ha! I guess the main reason that I would like to be a Darling doll would have to be for my mommy. She has worked so hard over the past year to put me in pageants and try to give me the best pictures and clothes she could. She even worked four jobs at one time and only slept for like 3 hours a night when I was just 8 months old, because she believed in me. Mommy loves to see her baby on stage and I love to make new friends and get lots and lots of toys, and DDA gives the toys! The toys would be my one other reason that I would love to be a darling doll. What 1 year old doesn’t love to get tons of toys? I sure do! I got a trash bag full at state and I can just imagine what it will be at Nationals. Finally, the last reason I want to be a Darling Doll is because the staff of DDA are so good about treating all their royalty like they were the Ultimate Grand, even if they were an alternate at state. That to me means more than you guys know. Who else makes banners for a contestant’s birthday if they just won on the state level? Thanks again to the DDA staff for giving me the chance to be apart of your great system and I hope I see you at nationals!

Hello everyone of the Darling Dolls of America Pageant.

I would love to be a Darling Doll of America for more than a thousand reasons, but I will just mention a few. It would be an Awesome title to hold (Darling Doll of America) and to bring home and brag to my friends. Needless to say the prices are great and worth the long trip. The Crowns "wow" they are beautiful and unique. I love the Patriotic Wear Category. I love traveling with my family and I would love to make a trip to Dallas Texas and make some new friends. In conclusion, I would hold the title with pride, honor and much joy.

Thank you.

Hello, my name is Shelbie and I am six years old. I am in first grade.

I think I should start with: why I wouldn’t want to be a Darling Doll? And I can not think of any reason.

What I would like to say is: Wow! What a year! Being a Darling Doll was the most awesome thing I have ever done in my whole life.

Beginning with DDA last year: It was just a blast! Seeing all the beautiful girls competing was so exciting (I think I could never be a judge, everyone would win!); the pins; Shannon & Stuart, Marilyn & Pam; all the DDA staff; and all the Nana hugs!!! HUGS!!!!! HUGS!!!!! HUGS!!!!! AND EVEN MORE HUGS!! I GOT SO MANY HUGS THAT WEEKEND THAT I FEEL I NEED TO BE A DARLING DOLL BECAUSE I AM RUNNING OUT OF THEM AND NEED MORE TO LAST ME ANOTHER YEAR. I LOVE HUGS!!

Also, Mr. Tim: Oh I love Mr. Tim! He is my prince charming. I love when he sings “I can only imagine”. And it is just not a pageant without Patsy and John. Last year they made it possible for Andrea’s mother, father, and grandparents to see her all the way in her country.

The gifts through out the year are always a nice surprise too. And it always felt like Christmas. .

I also got to host DDA Oklahoma State pageant with my pageant buddy Mandy Mo on the Go and we had so much fun.

I think what I like the most about being a Darling Doll is that, when you get the title, whichever you get, you know that you are the one getting it, because it is a very honest pageant and everyone knows that. When a girl gets a title at DDA’s, it is because she really deserves it and worked hard for it.

That makes me feel happy for my pageants friends, because they work as hard as I do, and no matter what their names are, they get what they deserve.

I believe that it is the most important thing a girl should feel about a pageant, the feeling that people is being fair with her and she has nothing to worry about, but to have fun and enjoy the experience.

That’s why I feel so proud of being a Darling Doll, and why I really want to be a Darling Doll again this year: Because I know the hard work is worth for something I want, and the experience is always unforgettable.

DEAR DARLING DOLLS,

YOU SENT OUT THIS CHALLENGE OF WHY WE WOULD LIKE TO BE A DARLING DOLL AND I HAVE THOUGHT LONG AND HARD ABOUT THIS ONE. MY MAIN REASON I WOULD LIKE TO BE ONE IS BECAUSE I THINK I AM ALREADY A DARLING DOLL. DO I NEED A CROWN TO BE A DARLING DOLL I THINK NOT. IF ANYONE TELLS YOU THEY DO THEN THEY MUST NOT THINK TO HIGHLY OF THEMSELVES.

I AM A 10 YEAR OLD FROM THE STATE OF FLORIDA. I STARTED COMPETING WHEN I WAS 7 AND HAVE MADE MANY FRIENDS IN THE PROCESS. THAT IS THE WAY I THINK PAGEANTRY SHOULD BE ABOUT IS THE FRIENDS YOU MAKE ALONG THE WAY. I DID YOUR SISTER PAGEANT DIAMONDS AND PEARLS AND HAD A WONDERFUL TIME. THE THING I REMEMBER MOST IS THE FRIENDS I MADE THAT NIGHT PLAYING IN THE POOL. I MEET SABRINA IN NOVEMBER AT ANOTHER PAGEANT AND TO MY SURPRISE SHE REMEMBERED ME. WE PLAYED HIDE AND SEEK IN THE POOL WITH ABOUT 8 OTHER GIRLS. THERE WERE MOMS SETTING UP FOR A BIRTHDAY PARTY, I THINK THERE WERE 3 GIRLS BIRTHDAY’S THAT NIGHT AND THEY ALL GOT CALLED OVER TO SING, OPEN PRESENTS AND EAT CAKE AND TO MY AMAZEMENT THEY INVITED ME TO JOIN IN. SEE YOU NEED TO KNOW I NEVER MEET ANY OF THEM TILL THAT NIGHT AND THEY DID NOT WANT ME TO FEEL LEFT OUT SO THEY ASKED ME TO JOIN IN. I COULD NOT BELIEVE HOW WELCOME I FELT. I KNOW MOST OF THESE GIRLS WILL BE BACK AT YOUR PAGEANT BECAUSE THEY LIVE IN TEXAS. I WOULD LIKE TO COME BACK AND PLAY WITH THEM BECAUSE THEY MADE ME FEEL SO SPECIAL. THAT IS WHAT PAGEANTS SHOULD BE LIKE NOT WHO TAKES HOME THE CROWN. DON’T GET ME WRONG I WOULD LOVE TO TAKE HOME A CROWN AFTER ALL I AM COMING FROM FLORIDA.

IF YOU COULD HELP MY MOM OUT IN ANYWAY I WOULD APPRECIATE THAT. SHE DOES SO MUCH FOR ME AND TO WRITE THIS LETTER IN HOPES OF WINNING MY SUPREME FEES PAID WOULD MAKE HER A HAPPY MOMMY. PLEASE CONSIDER ME. I KNOW THIS IS A DIFFERENT PAGEANT THEN DIAMONDS AND PEARLS BUT EVERYONE HAS MADE ME FEEL WELCOME EVERYTIME I HAVE COMPETED WERE THEY ARE AT. I CAN ONLY HOPE YOU WOULD MAKE ME AS WELCOME AS THEY HAVE IF I AM LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE PART OF YOUR ROYALTY.

I want to be a Darling Doll because it's one of the very best pageants ever. My first time at Darling Dolls was my very first high glitzy Pageant ever. I had turned 6 years old. It was so much fun! I met so many new friends, and played all night until my mom made me go to bed. I liked jumping from one bed to the other bed, and swimming. I loved having my nails, and hair and makeup done by Teresea. I couldnt believe that the beautiful person was me in the mirror. I think my mom was surprised too.

We got a lot of help from our new friends at Darling Dolls, from hair all the way to modeling. I want to thank them all for cheering so loud for me when I was in front of the Judges. It made me smile even more. Me and my mom were so happy when I won the divisions novice title, and later we were told that I actually won the division beauty. I got so many hugs from our new friends - I could hardly believe it! I got a lot of presents, and a HUGE crown. And you wont believe how many presents came in the mail afterwards. It was like having a second grandma watching over me. It was like Christmastime all year!

I'm almost 8 years old now and learn a lot in second grade. I love school. I learned a lot at Darling Dolls too. My mom says Im very strong and that we still use the things we learned from our first pageant at Darling Dolls. This year has especially been tough. My grandpa died from cancer, my dog had to be put to sleep cause he just got real old, and we have to move away from my friends cause we just cant afford this house. Theres more - but theres too much to tell you about now. If we get to go to Darling Dolls this year - ask me and I'll tell you all about it. I want to say this - face those challenges head on, and dont be afraid to ask why. You can overcome anything. If I can do it, so can you.

Everyone is so nice to me and my mom. We still see and talk to our friends from Darling Dolls. Like when Caroline's mom went all the way to her room and made me a peanut butter sandwich - I was so hungry waiting to register at UMMI. My mom was so funny, she thought it was a banana-peanut-nutter sandwich. Thank-you. I really liked hearing from my secret sister on the computer. Thank-you for the Happy Birthday Banner on the board last year. I helped my mom made some really cool banners for us too. Maybe, if I earn a Queens award this year, I can ride in parades and wear a Darling Dolls crown and sash for some fun events, and maybe I can even try for Queen of Queens!! If these reasons aren't good enough to become a Darling Doll, I don't know what is!! Reach for the Stars all you Darling Dolls!!!
My mom wants to say something too…

Christy's reign with Darling Dolls of America in 2004-2005 was wonderful, and it helped prepare her for many challenges. She had a fun and active year with Darling Dolls of America. Thank-you for giving Christy Lopez the opportunity to participate in Darling Dolls of America. As a National award winner, Christy was a positive representative of America's diversity, and will continue to be part of the embodiment of America's promise, its strong never-give-up character, spirit, and value.

Christy's participation in Darling Dolls of America provided her a friendly venue in which to develop a positive self-image and strong self-confidence. Thank-you Darling Dolls.

*Why I Want To Be a Darling Doll*

By Ashley Crawford (and Mommy)

Why do I want to be a Darling Doll?
There are so many reasons, I can't list them all
Let's see...the stage, cash, prizes, and crowns
The Royalty rides in a limo all over town!
Not to mention the friends I get to meet
Oh boy oh boy wouldn't it be a treat!
Mr. Tim will be there to emcee
Mr. Richard will be there for all our photography needs
Even my Coach Miss Cristina will be there
And Mr. Michael Booth can do my hair
After competition I can swim in the pool
Oh my goodness, DDA is so cool!
Can you really blame me for wanting to be a Darling Doll?
These are just a few reasons,.. I couldn't list them all!

Hello, My name is Ashley Renee' Crawford and I am 6 years old. I have been competing in pageants since the age of 3 and it has become my favorite hobby. My mommy & I first heard about DDA in 2004. I had won a huge discount to Nationals, but couldn't go due to my birthday party being the same weekend and I didn't own a glitz dress. In 2005 my mommy tried so hard to take me, but she just didn't have the funds to do it. Since then mommy started her own Banner making business to help pay for my pageant fees. She works so hard to take me to as many pageants as possible. Sometimes she even works Overtime at her real job so I can compete. DDA Nationals has always been a pageant that we have wanted to go to. All of our friends have told us sooo much about it! We were told that the directors go above and beyond for all the contestants, royalty, and parents! And that this is the Do Not Miss Pageant of the Year! How can we not be a part of it in 2006?!?! I also love visiting your website and looking at all the cool royalty pictures and I just sit and dream about maybe one day winning one of those enormous crowns! I would love for DDA Nationals to be my first Dallas pageant. We don't travel much, but I know if you picked me, mommy would travel across the world to take me to DDA Grand Nationals!!! It would truly be a dream come true!

This is why I want to be a Darling Doll!
Thank you, Pageant Hugs & Kisses, Ashley Renee' Crawford

Why I want to be a Darling Doll

By: Brooke Musick Age 10

I want to be a darling doll because it would be my first time to compete at a national pageant. I think it would be really neat to represent this pageant system, because they are all about the girls feeling very special.

I think it would be a very special time for me that I would never forget. I love the glitz, glamour and of course the pretty crowns! Darling Dolls is a awesome pageant, from what my friends have told me. I think it is really sweat how Mr. Tim sings to all the girls too.

I love what pageants have taught me. I have learned to be graceful, confident and that I am special. I have also made so many friends. I hope to be a darling doll and make even more friends. I mean Darling Dolls, just listen to how special that sounds!

Dear DDA

Hello my name is Rachel Janda and I am 5 years old. I did DDA KS State pageant last year and I won the 4 year division supreme with the help of my mommy. This year my mom says that I am a big girl now and that I have to go on stage like a big girl. I have been seeing a coach and practicing everyday so that I can show my mom and Uncle Michael who will be in Iraq and sponsors me alot that I am ready to be a big girl and go all by myself.

DDA is the best system in the whole world, they treat all of there contestants like they are queens. They take the extra time and go the extra mile to get to know their contestants and there family. They make it so fun to rein for them and make it so fun to check the mail, sure do love it when mom checks the mail and there is mail for me.

My favorite part of DDA is the big sis/little sis program. I am a only girl in my family with three brothers. I had a little sister named Carley on oct 21,2004. She went to be with the lord that same day, now thanks to DDa they have made all my dreams come true and given me a big sister named carley and i just love it.

I really want to be a Darling doll so that I can Meet new pageant friends. Have a weekend away from my brothers ( Ha Ha Ha) have just a mother/daughter weekend, see all of my old pageants friends and rein for the best system in the world.

Why I Want to Be A Darling Doll Of America!
By: My’Una Jones

Hello, to all The Darling Dolls Of America Family, Staff, Royalty, 2006 New and Established Friends, I would like to share with you all Why I would Like To Be A Darling Doll Of America. When you see on the pageant boards or even through words of mouth that DDA is coming to your area, or even so many hours close in driving range. The first thing that my mom says is lets look at the family calendar and she if there are anything that we can switch around on that particular weekend that DDA is in Town, My little sister said this last time you mean the pageant that treats us all the same. My mom reply was yes that is the one, Plus you will get a chance to see some of our pageant friends. We will also get the chance to get stage shots taken by Mr. Richard. I can still hear him saying My’Una smile open up you eyes and grant it I an not a baby I know that is what a lot of people say “oh my that child can’t up her eyes wild on stage to save air(smile)”. So last year after DDA Ks State 2005 my mom and a close friend of our family that came to cheer all the contestants on, ask me My’Una please explain to us why did you have your eyes half open every time that you went upon the stage my reply was to them both “I was not trying to close my eyes on purpose, its just when you are at an event that is hosted by DDA & Staff you kind of fell like you are in Dream Land. Because everything is so well put together and everyone be having so much fun and if I opened up my eyes all the way I may have awaken from my dream. If their were ever to be a National Pageant Haven It would be called Darling Dolls of Heaven “were every little lady is treated like the Royalty that she is and more” and instead of receiving your own set of wings you would receive your very own personnel DDA National Crown.

This is my third attempt to make it to DDA Nationals, I know some of you all are saying my goodness My’Una, but I can explain:
1. 2004, my dad went deployed overseas for about four months and he left in Oct and my mom decided that we had to think about our safety, and the safety issues was her traveling seven hours in the car with Shawn, Breia and Myself! WOW some of us may not of made it to the Hotel at the same time LOL…
2. Second 2005, we all were ready to come to Nationals and on that Thursday Night before we were due to leave out. My mom had to run out to pick up all of our snacks and goodie’s from our favorite store “Wal-mart” and on her way back home someone accidentally pulled out in front of us. My mom had to be taken to the hospital and the other driver was in pain also but Thank God everyone was OK. The EMT had asked my mom if she was in any pain at the time and before she could answer them I shouted out yes we all are in pain because we are not going to be able to go to the DDA Pageant National Grammy Awards Everyone was like WHAT are you talking about. My mom said My’Una it’s alright as long as we all are fine, maybe next year. And the first thing my dad said was this DDA Pageant system sure does have you all excited. That’s when I said Daddy going to a DDA Nationals is like going to one of the Worlds Largest Awards Shows. So even though my mom was not feeling well and our vehicle was banged up really bad my Mom and Dad let us Pretend that we were having our very own pageant in the living room. It was fun but we all really wanted to come to Nationals that year.
3. Now here it is 2006, This year at DDA Kansas State my little sister Breia had a chance to experience the magic of DDA, and she loved it. All those big hugs, smiles, and attention that she received and lets not forget about the cash, and that breathtaking crown that she brought back home. I was Royalty this year at the state pageant. I had a ball of a time, because they even makes sure that their royalty is treated with the up must respect. I told my cousin in Mississippi “Girl if you ever fill that you are being neglected or not receiving any attention, to just go and be a guest at a DDA Event“. When I say guest that is exactly what they make you feel like. You are not just looked upon as a number, or just some contestant awaiting your turn to go on stage. DDA shows special attention in making each one of us felling like we are The Ultimate Grand Supreme! That’s not only on that certain day of the pageant, but all year long. Its like once you enter a DDA pageant you are not just signing your name on the line for that day, you are signing up for a life long time family friendship. I can remember receiving mail all year long for the different holidays, my birthday and my mom tells me all the time that DDA is always on top of trying to make pageants fun for the whole family. With us being a Military Family and our Father being deployed a lot when he is home and is able to see Breia, Shawn & Myself either playing our favorite sports, attending a pageant or just plan acting crazy with one another. We all know that our Dad and Brother will not be forever beside us saying is it almost finished or not having to leave them home. When we compete at DDA we already know that the whole family and all of our friends will have a Blast because you all make sure that the whole family will be entertained.

Now the time has come for the DDA National Grammy’s Again, we just informed by our parents that On Oct 1, our Daddy will be leaving for Overseas and guess what that is exactly two days before my little sister’s birthday. So my mom said that since we do know that daddy will be deployed my Aunt Erica is going to come all the way from Mississippi to travel to National with us. So that my mom will be able to drive us, and besides my mom said that she will need some adult conversation after being in a car with us for all those hours in can get pretty wild. LOL!!!!!! My Aunt is a First Grade School Teacher and she told us that she would love to come and travel to Dallas with us because it would be an honor to spend the weekend with us at Nationals . We only had to make her one small promise, and that promise was that we had to have FUN!!! My Birthday has just pasted and my sister’s birthday is Oct 3, I told my mommy you know what would be a great Birthday Celebration, her reply was My’Una what kind of trick are you trying to pull? I said you don’t even have to buy me and Breia birthday gifts this year we don’t need no parties. Take us to DDA Nationals this year and that would be the best gift that we could have. My mom was like are you sure about that? I told her the only part that I was not sure about was which one of my blankets that I wanted to take with us on the road trip. But of course we celebrated my birthday and had a BLAST!!! We all are really excited because you have so much to look forward to when you even began to prepare to attend a DDA State Pageant, so I know that if I have the privilege to be one of the ones selected to attend DDA Nationals I will not take it for granted, besides I know that there are other little girls across American saying right now: IF ONLY I CAN DREAM IT, SPEAK IT, AND BELIEVE IT THAT I CAN MAKE IT TO DDA NATIONALS 2006. ALL OF MY DREAMS WOULD HAVE CAME TRUE.

Wild with enough said on “Why I would love to be a Darling Doll.” Thank you for this opportunity to even enter this Awesome Contest. My mom and my dad helped me put together my essay. Daddy asked me where do I get all of this extra energy from some of our family and friends call me the thirty- two hour kid. there are only twenty-four in a day, but I somehow seems to find a little more time to squeeze my daily task in their. I am a 5th grader and we know that come with attitude all on its own. I really enjoy school, This is my second year being one of the lead singers in my school choir, I also play The violin in our school orchestra, this is my first year playing basketball, I am also a crossing guard for my school, that is where I try and make sure that people are crossing the crosswalk safely. I am also in a support group on base that help Military Dependants cope with understanding our feelings and dealing with life changes when we have a love one to have to leave us to go deployed to help support and keep our Country safe. I really hope that you all enjoy reading my essay all of us as a family really enjoyed the chance to submit one for me and my Baby Sister.

We don’t get a chance to attend pageants to often because all three of us really love to do pageants and with my dad being gone a lot with the military, my mom always try to make it possible for all of us to compete at times. Plus she always tell us that she don’t want it to seem like she is allowing one of us to do something that she knows that we all enjoys doing together, But it is sometimes hard to do so. But we just always enjoy the time when we do get a chance to step on stage and share our smiles with the world.

I My’Una Jones Hope and Pray that God Forever Keeps You and Continue to Bless you all for the opportunities that you offer young girls like myself and others to be able to Grace the Stage, Stand Tall, & Be Proud to Say That “ I am A Darling Doll Of America”

Why I want to be a Darling Doll
By Sierra Tims

I have wanted to be a Darling Doll for about three years. It all started at a Stage Beauties pageant in Durant, OK.

I was in Mrs. Susan’s hair and make up room when Mrs. Shannon was showing off her new paperwork for their very first national pageant. I know I must have been a HUGE wiggle worm for Mrs. Susan because I couldn’t wait to show my Granna the paperwork. I thought I had never seen any pageant paperwork so pretty and exciting in my life. It was all colorful and shiny and wow all that money. I wasn’t sure how much it was but I KNEW it had to be a lot because that number was so big.

When my Granna came to pick me up I was talking so fast she had to make me stop, slow down and tell her again. I showered her the paperwork and said I WANT to do THIS pageant. I told her I knew the pageant had to be as big as Miss America because the paperwork sure was fancy. She said that if I promised to work really hard I would go.

So I worked and work, but about a month before the pageant I was so disappointed when I found out I wasn’t going to be able go to DDA that year. The pageant fell on my cousin, Bentley’s, birthday. I was sad but I understood because I know how important family is. I kept that paperwork and I looked at it all the time. The pageant came and went and my Granna showed me all my friends’ banners on the computer. They all told me how much fun they had and it was the best pageant ever. So I knew that nothing was going to stop me from going the next year. I was going to be a Darling Doll.

Well little did I know that the next year DDA would fall on my other cousin, Keaton’s, birthday. Those darn November birthdays were really messing up my plans to be a Darling Doll.

This summer I had the chance to attend DDA Oklahoma state. I enjoyed every second of it because I didn’t think I would ever get to go to nationals because I have two cousins and a step-brother who all celebrate November birthdays.

On our way home my Granna asked me if I would like to go to DDA nationals this year. Of course I told her yes but I knew we couldn’t because of the birthday parties but that was OK I understood. She smiled and said “Well this year it isn’t on ANY of their birthdays.” I really couldn’t believe what she was saying. I was really going to get to go to DDA Nationals.

DDA here I come. This is one little girl’s pageant dream come true.

Love,
Sierra Tims

Why I want to be a Darling Doll
By Lauren Thompson

I want to be a Darling Doll so bad!!!!! This year when I went to DDA OK State, it was the first time I had had so much fun at any pageant. Everything was so pretty and the other girls acted like my best friends! I could not believe all the toys that I got. My best friend Alyssa told me to wait and see how good it was. And it was the best!

I heard everyone say see you at nationals when we were going home, I guess they see each other there every year. My new friend Kirrah told me that it was even more fun, to please come. I can only imagine what it would be like to go to something better than OK state. I really really hope I get to come to nationals so that I can be a Darling Doll too.

I have never seen a crown so BIG that the queens win at nationals. Only the best pageants must give those. I am going to work really hard to try to win one of those some day. My state crown is great, and I have been so proud to show it off at our soldier's send-off, and at other places, but wow, it would be super to get to wear the national Darling Dolls banner and represent the coolest pageant system for a whole year!

It would be so good to win this contest and get my supreme package paid, so that my Mommy will stop having me try on all my clothes from last year so she can sell them on ebay. I would be saved!

I can't think of anyone of my new friends that wouldn't want to be a Darling Doll, because they are the best!

Miss Alyssa Brooke Lucas was recently interviewed on the subject of pageants and why she would like to be a Darling Doll of America.

Interviewer: “Alyssa, please tell us why you would like to be a Darling Doll?”
Alyssa: “Darling Dolls is the pageant that I want to win the most because of all the stuff they do for their queens. I was very sad last year when I saw the current queens riding off in those Limo’s and I wasn’t with them. I was even sadder when I saw
